We would like to show you a description here but the site won t allow us.

How to Download a Sony PSP Driver for Windows. The Sony PSP is a handheld media device for playing games, listening to music and watching movies. The PSP is.

Hmmm with that firmware you are using I m expecting you won t get too much help on these boards.

Well, although the firmware is not the official one on the PSP, I don t think this issue has anything to do with the PSP and more to do with either the copy of windows or, drivers missing for the hardware.

As much as I like Windows7, it s got some issues.

As an example, When I installed Win7 on my laptop, the video drivers were not compatible with the transparancey effects was not WDDM. I tried to update the driver but, Win7 stubornly insisted that the current driver is the best one to use BS.

I used to have Vista on the same laptop and the display driver was just fine. So, I extraced the driver from Vista and tried to install it on Win7 no go, windows7 said that the driver is not compatible. I know it is though, so I force the driver to install through the ini file and then Win7 warns me that the driver is not digitally signed by MicroSoft, even though it s thier own driver.. Crazy right. I wade through all of the warnings and get the driver installed and it looks great, I have a full range of resolutions and the effects are all active. Thanks for making it so difficult MS.

In a nut shell, Win7 is still early so, if XP was working good for you, you may want to go back to that until MS gets Seven working a bit better for the average user.

So i got a pspGO For my birthday thinking that there would be alot of fun games to play but as it turns out there arent that many, and most of then are outrageously expensive, and on top of that all of the good games coming out of UMD only phantasy star portable 2, kingdom hearts birth by sleep, etc. so come on playstation think about the psp go owners who wasted 250 to buy it.

Actually know one really knows. There might, there may not. And there may be in the future and the PSP 3000 and less won t get. See, the 16GB internal memory is not an HDD. Handeld devices using HDDs are just stupid. I never got why people bought them other than they needed space. They are extremely unreliable, slow and just set up to fail.

Anyhow, the 16GB that is flash memory, Sony may have or should allow the user to use a certain amount of it like up to 256mb for caching the web browser. And actually, Sony could just do this without an option. You know when on a PS3 you get a 80gb hard drive, for example, and says you only have 69 gibs left right off the back. Well besides hard drive makers lying, the PS3 formats it to store what it needs to for the operating system. Sony could have set aside some mega bytes in the formatting for caching when using the internet.

So no one really knows.

Also, for the people wondering what I mean when I said hard drive makers lie, 1024 kbs 1 mb      1024 mbs 1 gig             in computer terms

Hard drive makers use there own equations.                  1000 kbs 1 mb              1000 mbs 1 gig

And that lost of kbs, mbs, whatever, adds up and that is why 120 gb harddrive 111 gb BEFORE FORMATTING

Lets not forget that psp on any model can update there system at anytime an make what was once slow even faster,,,xmb is only the operating system with a firmware an version,,,if updated theres no telling wat the browser speed can do,everything thing is able to enable on most devices today with a 10 year cycle,,its only a matter of being patient, its 250 for a reason

Still, if I were in Sony management and I looked at my main competitor, I d be laughing at how poor it was, feature-wise.

There was no way that I would think that this dual-screen touch thing would sell like it did, especially on that earlier hardware with no browser though they did release a memory expansion/Opera add-on.

1 Bad screens terrible brighness on the first-generation

2 no movie playback functionality at all, let alone MP4  Sony licensed this

3 screens in a weird aspect ratio to this day and the new one won t have a top screen in the standard 16:9 ratio either

4 no audio playback until recently and even now doesn t offer MP3   - Sony licensed this

5 no ability for saving things to removable storage until recently

6 no USB PC connectivity / ability to load pics and videos and movies or share them wirelessly

7 no usable GPS or camera add-ons

Basically, Sony really offered far more in the non-gaming departments, because until recently their main competitor offered nothing. Certainly more than enough to compete, spec-wise touch notwithstanding.

It is really beyond their control that Flash has been upgraded so rapidly, making many websites useless if you don t have the latest one. I m sure they felt it was good enough for the money at the time. Things change fast on the net.

False, its not the RAM, it s the processing power and operating system

Doubling the RAM does not cost nothing, it adds up quite fastIx_DarkDragon_ wrote:

The PSP 1k/2k/3k and Go have the same crap browser. Which was never updated since the Official Firmware 2.00 as when the browser was integrated to the PSP

Actually they updated it multiple times since then

Suggestions I wish Sony would follow

i feel bad now, like im making peeps hate the psp, i was just hoping that they improved the browser. for all the reason you guys think the browser is ok. let me make this point. sony markets the psp not as a gaming device but as a mobile media device. that said it should do all of its abilitys/features well. the browser even works painfully slow with there own mobile site.even when you change the settings to not display images. the browser still trys to load ad s and is slow on just text fields. that not withstanding the psp does do everything else well even the mp3 player is awesome and i used it for my own portable music player specially at work with the external speakers for years till my mp3 collection exceeded 4 gigs then the cost of the memory card was about equal to the cost of a actual 30 mp3 player so it was replaced for its media functions and lost its spot as my EVERYDAY pocket device. its still an awesome device in my humble opinion.TripG said it best If little extras are going to come out such as browsers, media player, and so forth, then do them well - not halfassed - or don t do them at all.

edit to Quote.

And therein lies the problem with the PSP - a jack of all trades device. The problem with being a jack of all trades device is that many of the non-gaming components or add-ons, although they work, are poor imitations of what the consumer expects in a device. Is it an mp3 player. Yes it does that. But only recently could you organize your folders beyond one level. Does it have an equalizer. Well yes there is some function there but limited compared to other devices.  The internet radio - great concept but poorly inplemented. You can not even save radio stations in the official apps.

It s not to be critical of the device, afterall, it is my favourite handheld. Heck, I prefer using it as an mp3 player than my Ipod as I dispise Itunes and the way it Itunes/Ipod organizes music. I want to organize my music my way thank you very much. But many of the extras seem half-hearted attempts at providing limited function all in the guise of being able to say that it does everything.

I think the real question that has to be addressed by Sony is are they making a portable gaming device or ii are they making a portable hand held entertainment system. if it is the former, then solely focus on creating the best gaming device possible - without any extras, i.e., just a superb, powerful gaming hand held device. If is the latter, then Sony needs to give as much attention to the non-gaming applications and functions of the device that are given to the gaming side.
